In the City is an international conference that explores how technology is changing our cities and shaping our future.
Russian and international experts in innovations, design, management and big data will talk about technology as a tool for urban development. How can we adapt the environment to meet citizens’ needs and response to the ever-changing patterns of behaviour? What will it take to build a better urban life?
We hope that the conference will demonstrate the scope that technology has: speakers will talk about international experience and also represent companies they work in. Participants of the conference will learn how to develop their professional capacity and apply the best practices of using technology in cities. Experts and industry professionals will meet for an exchange of ideas and visions so as to create innovative solutions in the near future.
The two-day programme of lectures and workshops is primarily aimed at young specialists, including architects, engineers, developers, and designers – people who understand contemporary tech agenda but want to learn more about practical application of technology.
The conference will be held in Saint Petersburg. The city is home to 10% of all Russian IT companies and multiple universities, which in turn are among the top ten suppliers of tech employees.
The programme is curated by Vsevolod Okin, Development Projects Manager in Strelka KB
of The New Normal
postgraduate programme in Strelka Institute (2017/18).
The programme has been developed by Strelka Institute in partnership with Gazprom Neft, a leading employer for region’s graduates.
